Husband and wife team, Alex and Emma are an experienced and professional yacht crew and have been working together as a couple for the last 3 years.

Alex and Emma look forward to welcoming you onboard More Magic and offer a highly professional yet friendly and welcoming service. Understanding how valuable ‘time out’ is they will make sure that every detail is thought of to make your time onboard relaxing and special. They can be as discreet as you like or take a more entertaining role. Both passionate about sailing and their work you can be assured that your time with More Magic and her crew will be an unforgettable experience.

Alex has been sailing since a child whilst at school in Devon. From there his passion for the sport and outdoor activities grew. Alex has been involved in the yachting industry as a Yacht Captain for over 20 years, gaining over 150,000 nautical miles in Atlantic and Pacific crossings. Holding an MCA Unlimited 200 tons, and RYA Yachtmaster Ocean, Alex has captained a range of yachts varying in size, the largest being a 138ft Sail Yacht. His career has taken him to every corner of the world, cruising the traditional grounds of the Mediterranean and Caribbean and further afield in Alaska, the Pacific Rim, South America and the Far East.

Having sailed thousands of miles around the world both crewed and solo, Alex is a highly experienced sailor and is always keen to give guests the best experience on the water possible whilst making sure you are safe at every moment.

A keen diver and outdoor enthusiast, Alex will also be there to help guests enjoy the extra watersports activities available onboard More Magic including taking you to the perfect secluded beach or snorkeling spot.

Emma has been sailing on her family yacht since she was a toddler and will admit it’s only ever been about boats and the sea! As soon as possible Emma became part of many a race crew and has raced at major international yachting competitions in addition to working for a sailing charity for over 5 years before hanging up the suit and travelling the world working on luxury yachts. 

Emma has been a cook onboard luxury yachts for the past 3 years and is able to provide guests with an exciting and fresh menu. From her early twenties cooking for hungry yacht crews at regattas, she has continued to expand the flavour and style ensuring Emma will be able to offer a variety of cuisine to your liking. Furthering her cooking skills Emma has been to ‘Lou Hutton’s Food Of Course Cookery School’, ‘Rick Steins Fish School’ and the 'Bertinet Kitchen' in Bath.

Having cooked in a variety of destinations from South America, the Caribbean and Bahamas and numerous locations in the Mediterranean, Emma is always keen to introduce a regional influence onboard - be it local spices and produce or a freshly caught fish - as well as bringing classic and traditional favourites into your tailored menu.
